For the Fall 2023 quarter, my team worked with Procter & Gamble to research, synthesize, identify, and solve for a problem space that was identified by their team in the Men's Care sector.

We initially conducted secondary research into existing men's grooming products and analogous products that exist across other types of grooming or care activities. This helped elucidate the potential knowledge gaps within the current market.

This was followed by in-home interviews where I led user studies to observe and understand men's habits, preferences, needs, and pain points surrounding personal grooming. This initial round of research helped to inform potential design opportunities and points of exploration with our users based on the insights gleaned from our conversations.

Using these insights, I led the team in developing a series of stimuli to do another round of exploratory and evaluative research which helped to assess how potential users may interact with, understand, and feel about various low-fidelity mockups and approaches.

This helped us understand how users approached certain steps within the grooming process and dig deeper on the most impactful points of innovation. We iterated through possible solutions until our final evaluative research study where we showed users more refined variations around a specific step of the grooming process and once again studied how they interacted with, understood, and felt about each idea.

This showed us which ideas had the most design energy and what could be done to truly flesh out the functional and emotional requirements for this product. With this in mind, I set about CAD modeling various iterations of our design to fit our vision. We were able to study different forms and gain an understanding of user ergonomics through iteration which led us to our final design.

Lastly, we presented our findings and works-like and looks-like prototypes to the P&G stakeholders to walk them through the story of the men's grooming experience and how our product centered around their identified problem space and solved for both the business and user needs.
